All International conferences and seminars taking place at the University on topical issues in the field of fire safety, prevention and disaster management, traditionally caused considerable interest and receive the highest marks from managers, professionals and scientists of relevant structures all over the world.

Main goals of international conferences and seminars:

1. Demonstration of scientific progress and teaching methods developed by officers of the University;
2. Studying the experience of foreign colleagues;
3. Establishing interpersonal friendship and business contacts;
4. Developing the image of the University as a leading Russian academic and scientific institution of fire and rescue profile.

Over 2011 the following international conferences and seminars were organized and carried out:

• 6-9, September 2011 in cooperation with International Department of Headquarters of EMERCOM of Russia the University organized and hosted IV meeting of representatives of fire departments of Russia, India and China (RIC) for the prevention and elimination of emergencies.
• 17, October - foreign guests from Italy, Serbia, Montenegro, China and Bulgaria took part in the international conference «Professional training in system of the prevention and elimination of consequences of emergencies». The conference dedicated to 105-year anniversary of St.-Petersburg University of State Fire Service of EMERCOM of Russia.
• 20, October – the University organized a scientific and practical conference "Actual problems of legal regulation aspects of disaster prevention of natural and man-made emergencies" (In cooperation with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of Collective Security Treaty).
• 17-18, November - IV research and practice conference "Fire Safety in Russia: experience, problems, perspectives" took place in St.-Petersburg University of State Fire Service of EMERCOM of Russia.
• 24-25, November - the University hosted the session of the Working group “Education and Training” of International Association of Fire and Rescue Services (CTIF).
• 26-29, May - the University football team attended the police mini-football European tournament in Ancona province (Italy).
• 25-30, June - I International tournament among students in Fire and Rescue Sports.
